Hubbard, Ohio news for Hubbard, Ohio folks
My gift shop (Diana's Gift Shop at 6177 Youngstown-Hubbard Road in Hubbard, Ohio) is a drop-off spot for one of the free Hubbard area newspapers "The News Of Hubbard" and you are welcome to stop by on Thursday mornings (or after) and get a copy while they last.
Besides local news, it lists local garage sales; events and usually even a coupon for my gift shop.
No need to shop if you are in a hurry and just want a copy of the paper :)
See the "about" tab on our fan page for days and hours and other information:

How to raise money for your cause by hosting a fundraising event at the Hubbard Ohio Gift Shop
This is how I do fundraising events here at my Hubbard Ohio Gift Shop.
*For some bigger events that will have several dedicated workers from your group doing the promoting and helping to host the event, I will do 15-20% (except for the AVON booth) instead of the standard 10% depending upon the volume of sales.
For events, no other discounts or coupons may be used that day as our items are already at a good price so we cannot do both.
See the page for the details, stop out here to see the place and then let me know if you'd like to do this.

Staying positive can be tough when life throws a few curve balls
I have lymphedema; venous insufficiency; macular degeneration; either
Marfan Syndrome or its cousin genetic connective tissue
disorder/disease Ehler's Danlos Syndrome; had my gall bladder and a
small part of my liver removed; and had lumps taken from both breasts
so far that were suspicious (all were benign so far, but Mom, Grandma
and Great-Grandma all had a few "female" cancers so my doctors do not
play around) + a few other surgeries and minor things.
Yes, there are days when it is all just too much :(
But, with everything that I've been through with watching my Mom die and losing my brother to our family's genetic connective tissue disorder and know that I have it and so do my children - I cannot allow myself to wallow even on those really bad days when I really want to do so :)
Thank you to all who are sharing my story and trying to help me and trying to help save my home. http://www.gofundme.com/c52fso

My daughter is a high school Junior (now officially a senior) attending T.C.T.C. and her mini film/video earned a semi-finalist spot in the iPad Palooza Film Festival to take place in Austin, Texas during June 23-26th.
She gets no school funding so she needs to raise at least $800.00. plus more if she wants to eat, buy any souvenirs or other extras.
I have a donation can here at my Hubbard Ohio Gift Shop (Diana's) at 6177 Youngstown-Hubbard Road and we are selling Daffin's candy bars here too:
http://giftsbydiana.hubpages.com/hub/Gifts-and-Collectibles-Business
We try to take a box with us everywhere that we go to sell them.
I cannot walk well so my friend Carolyn (from the shop next door called 2 Much Stuff) is taking Elaina door-to-door all over Hubbard to sell the candy bars.
If you know anyone who has a sweet tooth and/or would like to help her out, please send them in to my shop, The Encore Shop or The Whistle Stop flea market for a candy bar or 10 ;)
Some folks have bought a whole box of 36 at $45 to resell at their workplace or for a family party to help her.
A few folks just gave her a donation.
Thank you to all of you !
She has worked SO hard this year and got straight "A"s !
She is the Safety Captain for the new Robotics team at Hubbard High School. She is also active in bowling; writing; drama club; and has an amazing singing voice.
The last few years have been tough with my Mom fighting and then losing to cancer and this is why Elaina loves to model at the Encore Shop's fashion shows as they are fun for a good cause.
Elaina has had such a rough few years trying to cope with all of this and still trying to work toward her own future.
Her mini film/video entry is about how we are all basically the same and need to be kind to each other and uses paper bats to illustrate her point.

We have a little book shop in our gift shop !
It has been here for almost 6 years - since we opened.
We have 1,000's of books and as books sell, we refill the shelves. Stop by to take a look to see what we have from time to time.
No, I do not have a list of what is on the shelves or in storage and I am here by myself so cannot search the shelves for you - you have to explore the shelves for yourself - that's the fun part anyway :)
We have books from new to vintage and collectible and from cookbooks to romance to how-to... - it is one of my favorite sections of the shop !
We are slowly putting them online as well.

Cancer fight fundraising at Diana's Gift Shop in Hubbard, Ohio
March and October are our "buy pink" campaign months to help raise the funds needed to be able to keep donating gift baskets or gift certificates for our gift shop to local cancer fundraisers that we support.
We set aside 10% of those proceeds (on pink items) in honor of my Mom and the long battle that she had with cancer.
You can read more here:
http://giftsbydiana.hubpages.com/hub/cancer-fight-fundraising-at-hubbard-ohio-gift-shop
We also take donations to continue our work here in memory of my Mom if you wish to do that instead of, or in addition to, purchasing pink items.
*Please, "share" this with your network of family and friends... and bring a friend with you when you stop by out little Hubbard, Ohio gift shop.
Thank you.
