Spare my nose and lungs please !

I was just reading another perfumer's blog about the difference between a real natural perfume and the mainstream scented items that saturate today's world.

I wrote this comment about one of her wonderfully written posts:
"I so wish more folks would read this post of yours !

We are so bombarded with fake scents everywhere that even I (who is in my 40's and had never had an allergy or anything) have developed in these last 6 months or so a strong sensitivity to so many of the fake scents out there.
I have to be very careful when I go in public.
I have to watch where I sit and make sure I am not too close to someone who is wearing scented deodorant or some fake perfume.
I even have to be careful about walking into empty rooms !
I walked into an empty bathroom a few months ago and out of nowhere the automatic "air freshener" went off and I had to run out of the bathroom. Even getting out of there quickly was not enough as it got on ME and in my hair...
I had a headache and difficulty breathing for a few hours until I could air out.
It is getting to be unsafe to be out in public these days :(

Diana"

Here is that great post by Maggie that inspired my comment - it is a must-read:

I spent all day Saturday cleaning the counters, the kitchen, the bathroom... and my oldest helped out by sweeping and dusting the display areas and the living room.

I'm trying to get ready to restock my soaps, lip balms, perfumes, body balms...
I do have several of my hand-sewn items done as I worked on them while I was relaxing in the evenings and during the slow times when I was helping out at the family store this past Winter, but I have been way too busy doing everything else to be able to sit down and measure/photograph/list these though.

I do have some soaps already done from this past Autumn. They still need weighed, labeled and photographed so I can list them. I'll try to get to it soon, but they will probably have to wait until after my parents' party in May.

I will be collecting the Spring flowers soon to dry them and make my scented oils for perfumes and balms.
I'm trying to get this all done in between planning my parents' 50th party - so much to do and it's pretty much just me doing it.
I see a ton of cooking... in my near future ;)

Organically Yours,
Diana

As soon as my lilacs are harvested and dried, I will be working on an All Natural Lilac Perfume as well.

I'm not sure if I will make it a straight Lilac perfume or if I will mix another of my wonderful flowers in with it.

So far, I think I want it to be just Lilac, but we'll see.

I guess my "hobby" days are over

Hubby's last day of work was January 31, 2009.
He is laidoff for good.

So, I need to really get my business into full gear.
If you know anyone who appreciates the Organic way of life and the All Natural products that I make, please send them my way.

I have been working on a new balm for very dry skin. It will be in the testing phase soon.

I am also mulling around an idea for a Tribute Perfume for my Grandparents.
